Johnson Waibi

Uganda Country Manager

Johnson leads a team of 8 who, from finance to HR, logistics and pursuing in-country funding, are busy supporting all our field offices and make sure everything keeps moving forward smoothly.

Vickie Tumwebaze

Luwero Manager

Vickie leads a team of 12 who serve rural communities in Luwero district. They carry our new shallow hand dug well construction, re-sites, rehabilitations, and community training.

Gabriel Angura

Jinja Manager

Gabriel leads a team of 10 who serve rural communities in Jinja district. His team construct, re-site and rehabilitate shallow hand dug wells., and train communities in good sanitation and hygiene.

Andrew Pearson

Executive Director (UK)

Rev Canon Andrew Pearson founded the Trust in 1982. His leadership and determination has driven the Trust forward. In 2011, he received a "highly commended" award in the Principal of the Year category at the Charity Times Awards.

Agnes Birabwa

Bugembe/ Kaliro Manager

Agnes leads a team of 6, who run our two micro-finances projects, enabling households to construct latrines in the peri-urban slum of Bugembe, and construct rain water harvesting tanks in rural Kaliro.

Musa Sentongo

Rehab Manager

Musa leads a team of 9 who are implementing a rehabilitation project in Luuka district. They are also introducing our "Payment By Results" program into communities.

Mark Kenny

Liaison Officer

Mark manages our water source database, the outrider monitoring team, writes donor project reports and manages the Guest House.

Lydia Slack

UK Manager

Lydia manages our UK operations, working alongside the Executive Director. Lydia holds an MSc in Water Science, Policy and Management from the University of Oxford and a First Class Honours BSc from The Royal Agricultural University. She has worked on a number of projects in Sub-Saharan Africa.

 

Meet our Board

Jonathan Franklin

Jonathan has been a trustee since 2013.  Formerly a banker, he retired as chief executive officer of a privately-held investment management company in 2021 and now divides his time between London and Suffolk. He also serves as a trustee of the Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf Foundation which supports the work of the Anglican church in the Middle East.

Rob Smith

Whilst attending St James' Church in Shirley, Southampton, Rob visited Busoga Trust's work in Uganda and he has been a supporter of the trust ever since. Rob lives in Dorset with his family. His work in the technology industry has given him experience across a range of sectors. 

Anthony Sharp.png

Anthony Sharp

Anthony has been a trustee and associated with the Trust for over 20 years. He is currently Chairman of two technology start-ups and has worked on the boards of 42 technology businesses spanning a 36 year career. Anthony is a committed Christian and keen horseman.

David Leonard

David has been a trustee since 2015 and is company secretary of a medium-sized mining company. In his spare time he enjoys walking and gardening, and is a trustee of his local village hall and recreation ground.
