The House of Lords – Busoga Trust 30th Anniversary
To celebrate our 30th anniversary BT were given the very special honour of hosting a small group of close friends & supporters at the wonderful House of Lords. The day could not have been better. Roused by speeches from our Director, Andrew Pearson and patron, Lord Freeman, the guests mingled on the terrace, bathed in glorious sunshine and filled themselves with all manner of delightful canapés, lovingly served by the attentive staff. But then this wasn’t all about sunshine and fun, it was a real chance to reconnect with a group of people who have all done so much to help fight the burden of rural water poverty.
To those long serving supporters it would have been heartening to listen to Adam Harvey, director of Whave, who have partnered with BT, outline our strategy to achieving the holy grail of rural water development, 100% functionality and indefinite sustainability. Whave bring a new element to BT’s work and prove that new ideas can blend harmoniously with the old, ex Africa semper aliquid novi!
We couldn’t have asked for more and it gave us renewed faith and vigour with which to approach the next 30 years. Thanks to all who made the day such a resounding success.
