Rebecca Pattinson: Racing the Planets

On 20th November 2011 Rebecca will be setting out to complete ’The Race of the Planets‘  - one of the toughest foot races in the world. It is a 250 km, 6-day event in the Himalayas (6 marathons in 6 days), carrying her own food & equipment and involves an aggregate vertical ascent and descent of more than 61,300 feet (18,700 metres). Women and children walk miles every day, carrying heavy loads, to collect water which is safe enough to drink.
